Last Wednesday afternoon a group of 12 trainees and 3 tutors from the centre started a 4 week cycling initiative led by North West Adventure Tours in conjunction with Sligo Sports and Recreation Partnership. This initiative aims to encourage teenagers to cycle more often and to take on the challenge of completing the An Post Yeats Tour taking place on 1st May. This week we met at the Riverside Hotel to collect the bikes and cycled for 1½ hours. We cycled along the Garavogue river through Doorly Park, crossed up onto the Tonaphubble Road around by the Holy Well, back into Carraroe, down Pearse Road and back down around Cleveragh. This cycle was very enjoyable and tough at times, well for some of us anyway! Thanks to Warner for all his help and encouragement.
