Last Thursday a group of trainees from the centre along with Mary and Lisa went on a trip to the Sanctuary in Dublin.  The Sanctuary is a meditation centre for social change in the heart of Dublin City. It is a charity founded by Sr. Stan Kennedy in 1998.  As part of wellbeing trainees took part in the Sanctuary’s ’31 day meditation challenge’ for mental health awareness in the month of October. We had a very experienced inspirational mindfulness facilitator Niamh Bruce.  Niamh focused on a number of different practices with us, we became aware of our senses, had a mindful walk in the beautiful Sanctuary garden and even got to try out a singing bowl!  We did some Tai Chi Kung which involves performing movement that stimulate the blood flow through out the body. This trip left a lasting impression on us all and thanks to Niamh for giving up this amazing experience.
