Our annual Certification Day took place last Friday morning Oct 18thin The Glasshouse Hotel Sligo. It was a joyous occasion and we had lots to celebrate including recognising the 32 learners who had achieved QQI Awards. Between them these learners successfully completed a total of 151 component awards which breaks down as follows:
QQI Level 3 Major Award in Employability Skills – 5 Learners
QQI Level 4 Major Award in General Learning – 4 Learners
QQI Component Award Levels 3 & 4 – 25 Learners
In addition, the following certificates were also presented:
ECDL Certificate – 3 Learners
Safe Food for Life Certificate – 4 Learners
Gaisce Bronze Award – 9 Learners
Learners who participated in an Outdoor Recreation Programme were also presented with certificates of completion by William Britton and Barry Hannigan from North West Adventure Tours.
This year’s Personal Achievement Award went to a very worthy recipient; Andrew Farrell who achieved all his goals in the centre and since leaving has progressed onto a Level 5 Accounting Technician course in MSLETB. We wish him every success for the future.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our event and helped make it such a success. We would especially like to thank our key speakers, Cllr Gino O’Boyle, Mayor of Sligo and Seán Burke, Area Manager, MSLETB Training Centres – Sligo & Ballina. Also our representative employers who spoke, Éilis Dillon, Principal, St Cecilia’s School and Yvonne Sweeney, Receptionist/Salon Co-ordinator, Salon 2. And last but certainly not least our brave learners past and present who generously shared their experiences with us; Adam Lynch, Ahmad Khaled and Leanne Cox.
